We all have different backgrounds and financial means. One of the most wonderful things about dance is how it creates community! I have known most of the mentors in our program for 15-25 years, and they have been some of the most important people in my life. Without dance, I wouldn’t have met these amazing human beings, and I don’t even want to imagine what that would be like without them!
I believe that when we all contribute what we can, our children, artists, and our entire communities thrive. Bridges are built and dance family is forever.
Unfortunately, there are some situations in the dance community where it feels like there are only enough “spots” for a few, select dancers. In my experience, the most incredible opportunities have come from the dance family I have had since my school days!
