Foundations of Wellness for Dance - an Introduction for Families

$25.00

Foundations of Wellness for Dance: An Introduction for Families

Presented by Creative Generations & the Shamrockk Foundation

Behind every dedicated dancer is a family doing their best to support a path that is both beautiful and demanding. Foundations of Wellness for Dance is a vital introduction to the full ecosystem that shapes a dancer’s development—and the role families play in it.

This online workshop is designed specifically for parents, caregivers, and dancers offering clarity, connection, and expert insight into what it truly takes to support a dancer’s long-term health and success.

Led by a powerful team of former professional dancers—whose careers span companies like San Francisco Ballet and the Joffrey Ballet and top wellness providers in the dance world, this workshop opens a much-needed conversation across generations.

You’ll hear directly from:

  • Dr. Aimee Martel, dance physical therapy specialist

  • Pierre Vilanoba, LMFT, former principal dancer and licensed therapist

  • Jody Herman, RDN, CEDRD, registered dietitian focused on dancer nutrition

  • The founders of the Shamrockk Foundation and Creative Generations - Mariana and Derek Wagner and Derek Sakakura, former professional dancer with the Joffrey Ballet and principal with Ballet Met

Together, we’ll address key questions and concerns families often face:

  • How can I best support my dancer’s physical and emotional well-being?

  • What do training expectations really look like at the pre-professional and professional levels?

  • How do we build resilience, prevent burnout, and maintain balance in a high-pressure environment?

  • What’s the role of the parent when teachers, mentors, and wellness professionals are all part of the dancer’s team?

This foundational session includes time for live Q&A, and offers an open door into future workshops designed to continue the conversation. Zoom link will be provided upon receipt of registration. Recording will be available if you’re unable to attend the live zoom.

Creative Generations and the Shamrockk Foundation are proud to partner in creating this offering—because real dancer wellness isn’t built by one expert, but by a community working together. We invite you to join us in reshaping how we care for and advocate for the next generation of artists.
